So its been a pretty crazy month of June thus far, but FINALLY, I get to..just work. No events this week as we gear up for new ones, and get ready to go and see my 4th home of Toronto on the 4th of July amongst other things that are pretty boring to speak on. This Friday, all I can say is FREE FUN FLAMINGO FRIDAY FOR FIRST FEW FANS FINALLY FLEEING FOR FUNKY..Buddha. We will be having a new spin on our now epic Robotic Media event which will further set the event in its own lane of greatness with our first installment of The Jam Session!! Featured artists include Jon Content, Nikki Nikita, and Pangea's own DJ Reality coming through to do his thing as well!! You won't want to miss it intentionally or at all. What can you say about this shirt that hasn't already been said about The Statue of David?! I mean...seriously!! I kid of course, but here we have the second release of our Glow in the Dark Pangea Crest Tee. This particular picture showcases the tee in its white on white colorway. We also did the shirt in a black on black colorway but failed to really take the time to showcase the tee, but at this time, due to some situations that have presented themselves, I wanted to be able to show the shirt to the people who matter most (those who check the site) first before its able to be seen on the other blog sites and in a store near you! Its cool because it glows in the dark, but as with any crest that an organization creates, a lot of care and thought goes into the creation of a crest. See what you can spot within ours!!

Nope..We aren't talking about the epidemic of every one suddenly wanting to be all in love all of a sudden, ALTHOUGH..what is that all about!? But I digress..On June 12, 2009 PRSVR and Pangea Incorp and DJ Reality have the esteemed pleasure of celebrating The Funky Buddha Lounges 13th Birthday so everybody please clap for that!! They haven't had to change their name or have threatening issues otherwise and that alone deserves your attention...if THAT didn't get you there on the 12th, might I add that we are also going to have the Legendary one and only Love Bug Starski in the building doing his 1-2 thing in the venue so its a definite don't miss!! Excuse me? Who is Love Bug Starski you ask!? I'd tell you, but I think that just might cheat you out of hearing some familiar classic songs that he created!! Get on your youtube game and on your google game and go listen to Juicy by the GREAT Notorious B.I.G. and get familiar with a few things and I will document more information as time goes on. But June 12th, we are going to concede our Reality Rap theme and celebrate Hip Hop and the Birthday of The Funky Buddha so its still FLAMINGO as the password and with that password of FLAMINGO, you are allowed into the venue for $5 so that alone in itself is a deal!! And we are back to reality...well not quite, but Reality Rap IS going to be taking place on June 12, 2009 this month and it is definitely going to be a good look!! So look forward. More information on that soon. I want to personally thank everyone who took place at our most recent Robotic Media event/performance where we had excellent performances from 6S, Tay G, and R.O.E. aka Rising Over Envy. The event was without doubt, a good look altogether, and it really allowed for me to put forth the type of music that I love and appreciate and if nothing else, I enjoyed myself!! Special thank you to all the artists as I look forward to working with and supporting your individual movements as we all proceed.

Remember RIF? Reading Is Fundamental?! I used to looooooovvvvve RIF!!!! LIke I can't tell you how many Boxcar Children books I had because I probably had them all. I didn't get RIF until I moved to Grand Rapids from Detroit, and from there, I took advantage of RIF and of reading as a whole!! Like I tried to read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea when I was in 5th grade!! I read it all, but I didn't fully understand it.. I mean I was 10 years old!! I always enjoyed reading though. Now I have hollowed out 20,000 Leagues and I keep unmarked five dollar bills in it!! Jokes of course. When I began writing this, I really remembered how excited I would be twice a year in elementary school to go partake in RIF!! 

That same excitement is the same passion I show within our Reality Rap Friday event so for the rest of this week, I'm moving on the accord that Reality Rap IS Friday!! because it is. That's my mantra for the week. Anytime I get stressed with the powers that be, I will be telling myself "Reality Rap IS Friday". What's a mantra you ask? Well it basically equates to something you tell or chant to yourself to pull you through a tough situation or rough spot you are having. Mine is typically "Praying for progress, expecting success, accepting nothing less than to be blessed in my quest for success." Please use that to cope with your boss being a jerk, your boyfriend stressing you because he wants to play X-Box all day (peace to all the online gamers out there!!) or if your girlfriend is stressing you because she talks too much, or if your mom is stressing telling you its time to move out the penthouse!! Trust indeed..I WISH I STILL LIVED IN THE PENTHOUSE ON TOP OF MY MOMS CRIB!!!! But the estates are pretty cool too...we got Mahi Mahi there...which means "strong strong." I love to read. So please, by all means use my main mantra mechanism to cope with your week by simply saying "Praying for progress, expecting success, accepting nothing less than to be blessed in my quest for success." But if you take it to print, Mr. Barnwell might have to come see you. It'll either be my lawyer, or the muscle. Welcome back to Monday here in the Land of Pangea!! I am here starting off another week that will be filled with chance, change, and chores that I will be carrying out for the week to continue bringing in the type of success that we like to associate with Planet Pangea. In accordance with our current events we have been bringing the city of Chicago and the world for that matter, we are also gearing up to let the world see what PRSVR has been cooking up for the past few years. If I'm excited like I am after the week I have had, then you should be on the edge of your seats ready to fight anybody who looks at me funny in the streets of Chicago!! I won't say when, but YOU WILL SEE THE COALITON IN 2009!!!

Now that I have that out the way, I want to thank you all for checking us out at the Buddha Lounge this past Friday April 10th!! It was definitely a good time, a great showing, and just an all out good look for us. A special Thank you to A.B! and Coconut Brown for coming from Michigan to perform with us, as well as Tay G and Electrotronika and The Ruff Ryders for coming through and blessing the stage with an energy filled performance that was literally like the perfect situation for what we needed it to do!! The performances were a great way to start off our Robotic Media process and continues to show that PRSVR is creating a strong following of individuals who genuinely appreciate the brand and what we stand for as opposed to a gimmick of some sort. Its great that we see new people every single time, but Id love to see someone that has been to our Pe Day events, and Welcome Back from Paris renditions of our Friday events. Very rarely do we have repeat people that have come to every single one, so its a good thing that we are keeping the word going strong like the arms of Hulk Hogan! Be on the lookout for things that are coming forth in the upcoming months and most importantly, check us out this weekend for Reality Rap Friday!!

Hopefully all is well with your week thus far seeing that its only Monday, but I figured I would make your week a little easier for you as far as your plans for this weekend. I'd say start your weekend off with us at the Funky Buddha where we will have a live performance from Tekh Togo, Slot A, and Nikki Lynette as she will be launching her website this Friday and peforming for the crowd at the Funky Buddha. In addition to performances, their will also be specials as well as a tasting from 9-10pm and that is "absolutely" amazingly awesome (working on my A's) in my book. So I am thinking it will be a pretty good night!! I mean...ya know!? Sounds good right? In addition to all of that, we will also be allowing FREE ENTRY!! All you have to do is say the word "flamingo" at the door and we will allow you free entrance into the venue until midnight!! Now I know what you are thinking. "What's in it for you guys?" Well Sally, I am glad you mentioned that. Peace to all! We all wish that your Monday is treating you like a Friday and that all is well in the lives of you and your loved ones. Here at Persévérer (PRSVR), we want to extend a special thank you to all of those who attended our Reality Rap event at the Funky Buddha on Friday February 20th!! If you missed it, you missed a great showing, and a very good response to an organic event that we worked extremely hard on as we do with everything. T-Shirts came out great!!! At least thats what I was told. This event gave the opportunity to see our whole team fully assembled and in their uniform. The Med was still in need of his Meds for his stuffy head, Tekh Togo canceled a prior engagement and came out to see the event through, 520-570 was in attendance keeping it cooler than Obama in the Russian Vostok Station, Wilson was there and did everything we needed and more, and Now Playing wasn't playing at all as he was the main contact for PRSVR for the whole night and for that I am thankful for! Due to all of their diligence, I was able to keep myself busy by looking good and smiling for the camera. At least thats what I thought I was there for. I again, appreciate your attendance and support for all things PRSVR, and look forward to meeting you all in the future as we continue with our Reality Rap events.

Everywhere we go, we get asked, "where's the shoe?' "when's the shoe coming out?" "how's the shoe coming?" "are you on welfare?'...well maybe not that last one..but I swear at times, that question is sent with an incorrect connotation that is somehow misconstrued as disrespect!!!  I'm plunging at the next person to ask so buyer beware!!! LOL!! I'm joking...kind of. As I have always maintained, we are working hard, and when its time, it will be released. But I am excited to honestly say that it will be releasing in 2009. "Well why can't I see it on the website?" Well at this time, we are in our promotion phases and don't want to give a product without giving its background. When you look at the top brands of today, people are able to identify with an aspect of that brand and no matter how big that brand grows, x customer is bonded with that brand in remembrance of a time they are fond of. We are creating those stories by giving you "us" in the most vulnerable states. We show you our likes, our loves, our shortcomings, our smiles, our dinner, our loved ones, our events, our sorrow, our clothes, our gadgets, our workout plans, our inner most thoughts that we feel other people may be able to connect to and even if they don't like the product that we put out (which I am 97% sure they will appreciate it) that you at least give us a chance to sell you on the reason as to why the brand looks the way it does.

When you see the Coalition Sneaker from PRSVR (www.prsvr.com) you will see that it has a gum sole that raises on each inside of the shoe because when i drive, the inside of my shoes get dirt on them from the pedals of my car. By seeing the brand and the many walks we have literally taken, you will see why we went in and had to make sure that we increased the comfort of the shoe because aside from looking good, you want to feel good too...right? When you see the way that we dress, you will be able to see why we picked the colors that we are launching with instead of patterning it after a more colorful, spring time inspired ensemble of colors. It won't match superman, but it will match with many of the outfits that the SuperHuman above has in his closet...and I hope it fits in with yours. Its already March. We are about to start really showing you the accelerated course in PRSVR'nomics to catch you up so you are able to see some of our inspirations.

But fear not, The Med is still going to be hitting the weights, 520-570 is going to continue to confuse you as to what to call him (Bro its crazy...people really refer to you as 520!!!! Its like the CD says Jay Z, but thats Jigga Man..thats dope to me!!!) Now Playing is going to continue to be sure to expand his overall knowing and bring you in with him, and he is going to continue to show you why you love the little things that you love, and me? I'm going to continue to show you my side profile in all these pics with my sunglasses on....wait until the summer when my sunglasses are PRSVR!!!!! At that point...you will get sick of me and the amount of pictures that will be filtered through here of me!! Moral of the story, I appreciate you being hard on me. We here at PRSVR hear you loud and clear. We are awaiting this magical day just like you are. Its in the works and its coming quicker than you know. All i want to know is how many pairs you want...no really...you will see the shoe soon, but I am not convinced you are ready...the changes and extras we have coming are bananas like Gwen Stefani on a hand stand B!! Interview with Brandy Ellison Part 2

Brandon: Is their anything you would want to tell new student Brandy to do differently now that you have completed the first steps in your college career?
Brandy: I would tell incoming freshman to be sure to take advantage of of the resources that the college provides. If you need tutoring, advice, or even counseling, they can provide those things and so much more.

If future Brandy have given me advice on move in day, she would have told me not to room with someone who I already knew. It's good to room with new peoe and connect with others outside of your circle. I knew 5 people from my city when I came here but ten people are here from there.
Brandon: Have your aspirations or goals changed at all?
Brandy: No I still want to get my doctorate in PT then go on to own a chain of Petite and Curvaceous clothing stores. Maybe we can network together in the future!! I also would like to graduate early which is why I am taking summer classes starting this summer.
Brandon: Any closing words or information you want the people to know, other than you like to smile?
Brandy: Don't let money ever be the thing stopping you from going to sxho because kind people like you are out there to help you
Brandon: And we definitely are and we will continue to do so!
Brandy: Sounds good! Thank you
Brandon: You're welcome and I appreciate your time and dilligence in being a great example to those under you as well as towards us. It's good to see it's possible to focus and have fun.
Brandy: Definitely! I appreciate you guys as well.

Brandy is currently a freshman at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She currently maintains a high B average and is looking to get her grades up higher this current semester. Sounds like Persévérer to me!!

Interview with Brandy Ellison
Brandy Ellison is the 2008 first winner of the Pangea Strive for R.E.A.L.I.T.Y Scholarship.

We felt compelled to check up on Brandy to see how she has adjusted to life in college.

Brandon:Good afternoon Brandy how are you?
Brandy: I'm doing ok.
Brandon: What has been the hardest thing within your transition?
Brandy: Just being on my own and having to make everything happen by myself. I try not to pick up the phone every five minutes to call home for help so I guess that's the hardest part.
Brandon: I see. Are you the oldest?
Brandy: No I have five siblings over me.
Brandon: Oh ok!! So I'm sure you have plenty of advice and guidance given that prepared you for the grind you are on now.
Brandy: hahaha...well my aunt just keeps telling me not to come home with any babies!!
My sisters just encourage me to stay focused and continue to do my best.
Brandon: Man!! Pleeeeeeease don't come home with any babies! Laugh out loud, but no. You will have plenty of time for that later
Brandy: Yea I know.
Brandon: Nonetheless that is very important advice on all of those parts. It was clear to all of us that you have a desire to do big things and we hope you do so!!
Brandy: Thank you so much!!

Interview with Darren Williamson. Darren is the current acting coordinator of Pangea but full VP of PRSVR/Pangea Incorp where he oversees all Scholarship and Community based duties in our Michigan Affiliate. Currently Darren is working with all the Grand Rapids Public Schools as a mentor to high school students.  Darren is also taking steps to graduating through Devos Urban Leadership through a course which is labeled as the Grand Rapids Initiative for Leaders.
 
 
Ambassador: So i have seen your government name, but everybody here on this site has a nickname or moniker. Whats yours?
Darren: Haha...depends on who you ask. If you ask people from years ago, they might say DW, or Detroit Red..Now I tend to go by The Rich Young Ruler
Ambassador: Ok, does that epitomize or sum up what you do around the world or in the world of Pangea/PRSVR?
Darren:  Yea that is what I go by..unless you don't like that one..lol
Ambassador: What exactly do you do? Besides not get a lot of face time within the brand?
Darren: I am in charge of the Strive for R.E.A.L.I.T.Y. scholarship. I meet with the kids and tell them about the business and let them know that we came from the same place where they are now.
Ambassador: What made you want to take on the challenge of working with the kids?
Darren: A number of things honestly...my father always said we have to give back to those in need. Also public figures such as Joe Dumars, Jalen Rose, and Robert Kennedy. Those individuals gave of themselves when they really really had the ability to give and even though they had or have big hearts, they also had big bank. With our contribution, it means more to me because we have, but we don't have it like that, but we still make the sacrifice to give to others less fortunate. When Kennedy went to South Africa, and saw the conditions in the schools, he saw how unnacceptable and unsatisfactory things were there. When I went back to our high school, I felt the same way.
Ambassador: Thats profound...As things grow and pogress for PRSVR as a business into different countries and markets, where do you see your talents being utilized?
Darren: Possibly general marketing towards the youth or other classes or demographics of people I have been exposed to that may not be exposed to the marketing and presence we are creating. But no matter what the money and progress says, my heart will always be with the kids.
Ambassador: Well before you make the readers cry, and PBS picks up this interview, what changes are you planning to make to the scholarship this year?
Darren: Possibly an interview process to have a better understanding of the kids dream. Ask them tentative questions to see how they respond.
Ambassador: How do you think the perception of the brand doing the scholarship has been?
Darren: Mixed reviews by administration as far as why we are doing it. Most like what we are doing, but some are too busy doing who knows what to notice or care which is sad but true all at the same time. The teachers love it because I can relate to the students better than they can. I sat in the same seats and had hard times just like they did and do. At the same time, some of those students have so much work that they don't want to write a paper thats not required for graduating..lol
Ambassador: I can understand that...What have you learned as a person about yourself by being with Pangea/PRSVR?
Darren: That i would enjoy helping out the kids on my days off intead of relaxing on my days off. I really do this every day that I can whether its scholarship time or not.
Ambassador: What do you see as the ultimate result of the dedication being set forth?
Darren: Break down stereotypes about Ottawa, break down stereotypes about young people, and have many young people knowing that they can be successful in business, and hopefully being able to partner with them in their ventures down the road.
Ambassador: Whats your biggest fear?
Darren: Don't have any. Its against my religion but I don't like to fail, or let people down.
Ambassador: Side bar. Were Brandon and DJ as unpopular as they say they were?
Darren: It was like the equivalent to when Kanye first came out, or like Pharrell when he is not skateboarding or dressing up. Like DJ was the first person with whatever it was that was good to wear at that time. Like he wore what was on TV last night before most people found out where to get it from. He was always like that. Brandon was on the basketball team and on game days you had to wear a tie. He would wear a full creme suit just because it offered the ability to show how well put together it was going to be. The equivalent to being the coolest lames ever, but far from lame once you speak with them.
Ambassador: LOL!! Did it work for them? Or did it always look forced or unnatural?
Darren: Looked like they weren't trying at all. It looked natural for them, but nobody else could have pulled it off.

Hard work explains what we do daily before 09:00am. In the midst of copyrights, and patents, and Incoporation processes, and lawyers, and accountants, social gatherings, media, travel, international relations and trying to get three squares in us each day, we also are very focused upon our inventory aspects of our brand Persévérer (PRSVR www.prsvr.com). This includes our Coalition Shoe, countless luggage products and a slew of other products aimed at bettering the dependability and visual appeal of our clients uniform. This includes making sure our Coalition Sneaker passes all tests and standards including hailing cabs (in and out of town) running to and from meetings, enjoying time in the Maldives while keeping your feet from gaining moisture, two reps of 10, jumping turnstyles, various breakdance moves, and even lessening the chances of being teased for being inadequate in that special area...your shoes. We have even found a way to keep you dry in a hurricane not allowing any rain to touch you (WARNING: This has only been acheived by high ranking Pangea Officials).

Well it's not often that I get to feel as good as I am currently feeling..so with that said, I wanted to pass the good vibes over to anybody reading this post. We hope you all had a good week!! In my area of the world, it's been a -27 wind chill the past few days so I have been inside preparing you for what is to come. The weather in Pangea is never this bad. Be sure to continue to explore the website and most importantly, have a great weekend!! This weekend caps the first time in awhile where we will all be together so for your sake I am hoping great things come from our work. We have so much going on that I'd love to tell you about!! The time is coming again where Pangea Subsidiaries will be granting two high school students from Grand Rapids, Michigan The Strive for R.E.A.L.I.T.Y. Scholarship. Entries are due in the middle of February so be sure to hand those in to Darren Williamson or Ms. Koole at Ottawa Hills.
I personally look forward to reading over all of your essays and seeing what you plan to do in the realm of furthering your education and experiences. To the future leaders, I am Realizing Everyone Aint Loaded so we Influence The Youth.

New Year's Eve is always a busy time for the team. We hold annual meetings on this day, where we discuss where the brand is headed, what did/should we leave behind in the dwindling year and most importantly what's are own personal outlook in the upcoming year(s). We take great pride in closing and opening the years around each other. Our meetings offer another alternative and a fruitful one at that to the typical night's celebration.

 

We take the time out to wish our everyone peace in the approaching year! 

We are excited for the challenges and treasures in '09.

We felt the brand need a stronger mark, something that really branded and dominated a space. So through a few all nighters, collective efforts and our friend caffeine we came up with the Perseverer Crest. Yea we know the name isn't really earth shattering, but we agree that the mark is...

The crest was designed with a great deal of thought, in that most of it's elements represent something and reflect our vision(s). The African Tabono symbol in the northwest quadrant of the shield represents strength and perseverance, the torches symbolizing continuity, giving and assistance. The Pe' symbol which you already know or should know and finally we have an illustration of  Pangea, the supercontinent that existed roughly 250 million years ago. We have fancied the "Pangean" symbol to convey how we are all connected. These elements are the most prominent of the design with the exception of the flamingos that are interconnected focusing on the same vision. Of course there are other interpretations and explanations and even some ideas that are esoteric, but if you are curious just drop us a line at the bottom of this page or leave a comment.

 

Oh yea, it means to continue united, in case you were wondering...

Well it wasn't as dramatic as the launch of the Discovery (image courtesy of NASA/Tony Gray) but to me it was just as important!!! We have finally launched www.prsvr.com!! So all those shirts we have been handing out the past 14 months now have a place to call the nest....and what a nest it is might I add!!
We launched....what does that mean per se you ask lovely lady? Well with this site my bro wanted to build an introduction to the world that we are building and allow a safe nonjudgemental environment for you to watch us grow into the brand we are creating. By creating this site, you have first dibs on all content, imagery, samples, secrets, and g-14 classified information you can only otherwise obtain from the Estates we reside in so we offer you our lives...in form of HTML content!!
Feel more than free to invite your friends, family, boyfriend, girlfriend, ex, what have you..we won't judge.

Perseverer Scholarship
Special thanks to Darren Williamson for helping the team bring this idea through to fruition. The scholarships that were awarded to two Ottawa Hills High school students on the 25th of April, was an inspirational event and one with a year in the making.

We wanted to give back to the community even at this stage of our lives and business. It was only a few years ago in which we were all in those very same seats. We stood before them sharing a generation, as young adults who could easily relate and we believe that it was a powerful portrayal of dreams sought after.

We thought about how impactful it would have been for up and coming entrepreneurs in their early twenties to speak with us in high school. How much would that have inspired us?

Terill Charleston and Brandy Ellison were the authors of the winning essays! Perseverer would like to encourage Terill Charleston and Brandy Ellison to continue to strive for their dreams despite any obstacles that they may face.
