So Im at the post office and it must be my lucky day because there wasn't a line and there weren't any senior citizens in there questioning what new stamps are coming out or the middle aged women who runs a home business and decided that she was going to send all her cllients a package.
Today was different; today the counters were all open. I approached the first employee that greeted me and I asked him for one stamp. He opened the drawer and I noticed that he was taking a great deal of time to retrieve one stamp. A full minute had gone by and I said to myself, "are you out" he then places a stamp on the counter and said 44 cents. I paid for the stamp and went on my way. I look down at the stamp that I purchased and noticed it was a Black Heritage Stamp...
That got the wheels turning a bit. Did he really spend a full minute looking for a racially appropriate stamp? Was there some sort of stamp quota and his job depended on getting rid of all the BH stamps? Was I wearing my "I don't use anything, but BH stamps, if you give me a Liberty Bell or FDR stamp, I will burn the mutha down" T-Shirt? I really dont know what the ol' fellas reasoning was, but I found his actions to be quite interesting.
By the time I got to my car I realized that I actually needed to mail out two documents .
Well Mitch we will just have to try this again tomorrow...
